A SHORT TRIP TO WALL-MART

Today I had a short trip to wall-mart.  I realized that I was short in few items around the house.  I feel pretty lucky that around my house it is a close by store. 

Having a Wall-Mart in the area is a big advantage for short trips when you need to pick something in the run.

Wall-Mart has a large selection of items for a great price.  Most prices are for less than most other stores.

Every time I go there, I am greeted by a friendly person on the door; what I like about the company that they are big on hiring handicapped employees.  Usually are sweet and innocent and very willing to give a great service.

I needed few things such as Half and half, sugar, soap,  a lock, cheese and some flour tortillas for quesadillas for  my lunch.

 I could not find the section where the tortillas were, luckily a person working there was stacking the shelves with some items and I asked  him where they were.  The older man explained me that my favorite tortillas, Guerrero Flour Tortillas are delicious and great for preparing quesadillas, fajitas and tacos.  Because they are soft, thin and flexible.   Also he said that they are made with a special recipe and pure wheat flour.  No wonder Guerrero called them a “little piece of Mexico in a bag” he shot out!!!

It was wonderful to be able to find someone that has the kindness to share that knowledge with me in such an insignificant purchase.

I felt very luck at lunchtime while eating my quesadillas by knowing so many details about my meal, thanks to such a nice friendly older man!

MISSION VIEJO MALL

Yesterday my dear friend Zahide asked me to help her to find a dress for her husband’s coming birthday!!

We meet at the closest mall in our area; the Mission Viejo Mall.
Actually I prefer to go to small boutiques rather than the main department stores but she wanted to check first Macy’s and then Nordstrom to see what they have to offer.

First, we try in Macy’s, she could not find any dress that she liked in her size, so she ended up buying a cute raffle skirt and a blouse but that did not satisfied what she was looking for. To be honest, the salespeople where nowhere to found, and when we did,she was not too friendly or helpful. I feel that in these days, department stores are short in personnel because of the economy.

After we went to Nordstrom but what she liked was very elegant, good quality but too formal for the occasion so we decide to try the small boutiques around the mall.

First we went to Cold Water, Talbot’s, Banana Republic, Arden, Armani Exchange and BCBGMAXAZRIA clothing stores but we could not find the right dress in either of them.


Finally, we went to Cache closing store and a friendly sales girl that was excited to show us the news styles that the store got greeted us as soon we come in.

She gave Zahide many choices, and she was willing to bring accessories for each of the dresses. We really fall in love with a beautiful black and red dress that fitted Zahide beautifully. It was my favorite one but Zahide decided to buy another one as well because she could not decide which one she liked the most.

The sales girl was very informative and told us that the black and red dress was a very popular one and on demand and because of that they ended up ordering an extra shipment.
Also she said that the dress was in the front page of the catalog as well.

In the end, with a sweet smile in her face, she announces that because Zahide was buying more than $200.00, she will get a $50.00 discount!!!!!!!

What a great shopping day;

I was glad that I was able to help my dear friend!!!!

NEW JEANS HUNT

Yesterday Danni come over to hang out at my house and have a girl-to-girl chat!
Then we decided to go for a jean hunt!!

We went to the Main Street in Laguna Beach village and check few stores around the main street.
I just love the small boutiques with many very unique items.
It is just a fun thing to do in a Sunday afternoon. It is full of local people and tourist from around the world!!

Some of the boutiques carry a collection of design cloth that you cannot found around in the local mall.

We enter our favorite boutique and check the latest collection of jeans; the store is well decored and has a very inviting feeling in general.

The girl that works there actually is the owner herself and she is always willing to give some suggestions or advise on how to put an outfit together with some of the items that she offers in the store.

We found these are very nice ideas but we usually go for our own decision. We just love the idea of putting an outfit together ourselves.

When it comes to the price sometimes we feel that are a little over priced but again it is necessary to consider that their are design labels that you might not found somewhere else.

The owner a good business woman, always make a point to let us know that new items will be arriving or that some clothing are marked down; she is always very positive about it and very proud of the selection in the store.

I always feel welcome and I ended up purchasing more that I have planned for. This time we bought a pair of jeans each and some tops to go with them plus a belt.

Next time you want to have a leisure walk and enjoy a beautiful sunny afternoon; be sure to go to Laguna Beach Village and check the stores around!!
